UNVERÖFFENTLICHT - The comic scene reveals all!

From Wilhelm Busch to Flix. With Stephan Probst. Opening reception October 2, 2021, 7 p.m.

October 3, 2021, to January 16, 2022, LUDWIGGALERIE Schloss Oberhausen, Konrad-Adenauer-Allee 46, 46049 Oberhausen

Comic artists from German-speaking countries open their drawers and offer a glimpse of previously unseen and unpublished material!

Newcomers meet renowned and famous artists and make it clear that they all have projects that have remained unfinished, been rejected by publishers, or never been completed for other reasons. Most of the ambitious projects that have never been seen before are freely created drawings and stories that, due to their independence from clients, clearly illustrate the signature style of the respective artist. At the same time, this compilation of unseen works from different comic genres, drawing styles, and trends provides an insightful overview of German comic history. Important figures from the current comic scene meet for the first time in this constellation and highlight the complexity, innovation, and influence of the artists and their works.
