David von Bassewitz is one of Germany's best illustrators and comic artists. He is now being hailed for his latest work, which he created together with journalist and writer Thomas von Steinaecker: about Karl-Heinz Stockhausen, the “... man who came from Sirius.” Fantastic! We are very happy for David: CONGRATULATIONS!!

Stockhausen! by Bassewitz on DRIVE: before.
What's it all about?
About the life and work of composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, pioneer and avant-gardist, researcher and explorer of music, role model and inspiration for many who are breaking new ground in music, such as the Beatles, Miles Davis, and many more. David and his co-author approach the subject through their personal connection, describing how the young Thomas discovered, experienced, and learned about music and its composer—very, very exciting!
This is what the “Süddeutsche” newspaper writes, for example.
"... This book exudes a powerful pull, similar to the pull once triggered by Karlheinz Stockhausen's music when he began creating music from scratch in the 1950s with rigorous uncompromisingness, beyond melody and timbre, eruptive and dissonant, music like from another world, which has been embraced throughout the entire century, reaching into the vastness of space. ..."

And that's what David achieved at DRIVE.
Together with David von Bassewitz, we worked on an image and communication project for the Hannover Medical School. The aim was to design and visualize the image and brand world of the strategic area “Research, Knowledge, Translation, Transfer,” or FWT2 for short—the communication and transfer of research and knowledge in, with, and to practice. David created a series of fantastic illustrations featuring motifs from a highly futuristic research community that explores and discovers worlds:
a) aptly describing Hannover's excellent scientific reputation and its immense offerings,
b) closely related to the theme of composer and discoverer Stockhausen – how could he have prepared himself better for this topic than with this study :)

Und hier könnt Ihr dieses wunderbare Werk erwerben
You should definitely do that. At your favorite comic book store. Or at Comix Hannover, which we recommend: Order now. Delivered immediately. Simply great.

Good illustrators at DRIVE
So: We love talented illustrators and their work, and we have plenty more of it. Why? Because creating unique, fantastic, expressive, and distinctive visual worlds is simply part of good communication. It sets a brand apart and distinguishes it from the rest. This works exceptionally well with illustrations, as you can see here in this example. Just get in touch with us to find out more. :)
