Tips for more growth with AI
But how does it work and what can you do with AI? We look at examples, practical experiences, and tips—not quite 1,000 yet, but almost.
Experiment, AI as co-founder: How ChatGTP built me a business
In just three weeks, AI is supposed to build me a business. Could the software possibly earn more money than I can? A self-experiment in five acts.
Business consulting with AI
An interesting experiment by a journalist at Handelsblatt: build up a second source of income and save on the cost of a management consultant who knows more about the subject than you do, namely how to actually set up a new company.
| Application | Consulting on starting a business |
| Instrument | ChatGPT, später Dall-E |
| Example | https://www.handelsblatt.com/technik/forschung-innovation/ki-als-gruender-so-hat-chatgpt-fuer-mich-ein-business-aufgebaut/29224896.html |
| Features | All phases of the consulting process for starting a business 1. Business model: interview, analysis, identification, and recommendation 2. Brand development: name and logo 3. Building a small website 4. Designing the products (here: NFTs) 5. At least providing marketing support, giving tips, etc. |
| Benefits | The AI is extremely fast (but then again, so are we at DRIVE). It can handle standard and run-of-the-mill recommendations. |
| Drawbacks | Errors, lots of them: linguistic errors, logical errors, incorrect information, and more. She reproduces, but cannot check. No originality. And certainly no truth or accuracy. |
| Evaluation | Can run through variants and scenarios, including calculations, which were completely omitted in the example: no KPIs, no forecasts, no business cases (and that in the Handelsblatt!). But: garbage in, garbage out. |
| suitable for ... | ... DIY entrepreneurs, Handelsblatt journalists looking for perspective, micro-entrepreneurs |

Telling graphic stories with AI
AI is a really hot topic in the creative community. Many authors, designers, comic artists, and illustrators condemn it outright, but some early pioneers are giving it a try and showing initial results that are already quite impressive.
| Application | Create, write, design, and produce comics |
| Instrument | Midjourney |
| Examples | Steff Murschetz: The invisible friend, https://www.u-comix.de/2023/06/dr-mark-benecke-und-der-unsichtbare-freund/ Steve Coulson: Sommerinsel, https://www.u-comix.de/2023/02/comic-von-kuenstlicher-intelligenz/ |
| Features | Design of characters and development of personalities in different variations and desired styles; design of backgrounds and settings, including the use of real images and distortion: creation of animations that can be viewed via a complementary app (in both print and digital versions) and much more... |
| benefits | Creation of additional functions: animations Taking on complex, rather unpopular tasks: backgrounds, perspectives, and much more Generation of the entire design in one style, without breaks |
| Drawbacks | The design quickly comes across as cold and impersonal. The breaks that are usually evident in manual artwork are missing here, causing the result to lose authenticity. However, in many productions, an artificial, clean look is desired. |
| evaluation | In this phase, experience is still being gathered. It will take some time to find the right prompts to achieve the desired results. But the path forward is already visible, and time savings are at least possible. What is still lacking: the individual factor needs to be worked out in more detail, but this process is not yet complete. |
| suitable for ... | ... Designers in the idea phase; artists who consciously want to achieve an artificial look; anyone who wants to save time and money: a) at the beginning of a design project, b) for its output. |
Character design with AI
What many creators particularly enjoy doing with AI is designing characters in all possible variations and forms.
| Application | Character design for video games, comics, films |
| Instrument | Midjourney |
| Example | https://www.facebook.com/groups/officialmidjourney/permalink/596852339273001/ |
| Features | Play through dozens of character variations with just a few prompts, add details, make changes... |
| Benefits | Time savings! High level of detail! Lots of results! |
| Drawbacks | Appears unappealing quickly. Not original, and the results soon become boring. |
| Evaluation | Good if you use it for preparation and then sort, select, and evaluate. |
| suitable for ... | ... Game designers, character designers, animation designers, and similar |

Design: Creation of a mood board
At this stage, images etc. do not need to be perfect, but they should give an impression. With the right generative AI, you can already create first impressions here. This saves research time and allows you to show the client various possible options without a lot of graphic design work. The design time saved can then be put to much better use in the actual implementation.
| Application | Interior set design: Creation of ideas as a mood board |
| Tool | Midjourney |
| suitable for ... | ... Concept developers and designers, especially in classic and digital communication |

Product descriptions with AI
This is a great way for websites and online shops that are being built or redesigned to quickly and easily place many products well in SEO rankings.
| Application | Write large quantities of SEO-optimized product texts |
| Tool | ChatGPT |
| Benefits | Save time! Achieve volume! Integrate SEO keywords |
| Drawbacks | In any case, always, always, always check! |
| suitable for ... | ... anyone who operates shops with a large number of products, approx. > 100 products, which require a certain amount of text, according to rules and a plan, with specific keywords |
Writing SEO-optimized bulk content, e.g., for product and category pages
Same example as above. Sorry, dear mass writers, it doesn't look good. Unless you become original.
| Application | Bulk texts. Large amounts of content that already exist in the same or a similar form elsewhere. |
| Instrument | ChatGPT |
| Evaluation | Not pretty or funny, but it gets a lot done. Saves time, energy, and therefore money. But if you want it to be good, it needs to be done differently. In any case: check it out! |
| suitable for... | ... SEO copywriters: You'll save a lot of time and can make the most of your resources for customization! Website operators with a large number of product and application pages (>50 pages): You'll create a solid foundation for your SEO work. |
Note: SEO copywriters naturally see this very differently. They argue that Google may (!) be able to recognize when texts are uniform, i.e., always have the same sentence lengths, or are too perfect, i.e., have no spelling mistakes. The technical terms for this are: “Perplexity,” i.e., confusion caused by errors, and “burstiness,” i.e., surprise in form or content. However, 1) German teachers should have a fundamentally different opinion about errors in texts, and 2) surprising moments in large amounts of text can be easily incorporated by following appropriate rules. Ultimately, this can also be achieved through monitoring and manual intervention, and that is what it is all about.
Interior design
| Application | Innenarchitektur, hier Ladendesign |
| Tool | Midjourney |
| Goal, task | Creation of furnishing proposals in variants |
| Evaluation | Good for playing through ideas and trying them out. Selection and evaluation must be carried out by the user; the distinguishing characteristics and special features must also be noted. |
| suitable for ... | ... Interior architects and designers, shop designers, trade fair constructors, stage designers |
Generation of ad texts for ads on Google and social media
| Application | Generation of ad texts for ads on Google and social media |
| Tool | ChatGPT |
| Evaluation | These texts are created according to rules and guidelines anyway. Particularly well suited for A/B testing. Also perfect for creating large numbers of ads for shops with many products. |
| suitable for ... | .. all SEA managers |
Chatbots for first-level support
| Application | Responding to user questions in 1st level support |
| Tool | There are already some good tools available from specialist providers. Ask DRIVE, we have the answers. |
| Features | 24/7 operation. Direct contact with clients possible. More information about client needs and requirements possible. |
| Evaluation | Questions and possible answers can be specified in advance, with significantly greater variation in the answers. The learning system develops independently. |
| suitable for ... | ... anyone who has to and wants to answer lots of recurring customer queries, e.g., financial industry, e-commerce, tourism, education, energy & utilities, manufacturing industry, publishing houses |
Support with email marketing
Writing texts for email newsletters is difficult, especially if you want them to be good. The tool itself is good and can be effective. But the texts in many ...? Well. At the same time, you have to send them regularly to achieve the desired results.
| Application | email newsletter |
| Features | Writing texts. With suggestions for subject lines, preheaders, and newsletter content In addition, analysis of click paths and funnels, and reporting. |
| Tool | The first tool providers are already advertising this. It's still in its infancy, but we've already conducted tests. |
| Benefits | Save time. Achieve consistency. Get lots of text inspiration. |
| Drawbacks | As with all texts. But: this can be compensated for by manual intervention, which is much easier, of course. |
| suitable for ... | ... anyone who would like to send newsletters regularly but cannot/does not want to/is not allowed to write them |
Website analysis: evaluation of data and reporting
Website analysis tools have always been somewhat “smart” in the sense that they have many functions and ready-made reporting features to analyze the immense amounts of data generated when a website is offered and used. Now it seems like all providers are simply adding “AI” to the names of their tools. Certainly, all of them have undergone further development, but what exactly is AI about them, i.e., are they self-learning?
| Application | Website analysis: data evaluation and reporting |
| Tools | almost every |
| Features | Real-time analysis and display; analysis + copywriting (i.e., simple content generator: see above), + research for copywriting + many classic website analysis functions + many classic SEO analysis functions: From keyword research and content planning to link building, website audits, competitor analysis, rank tracking, and more. |
| Evaluation | There's still a lot of hype surrounding this topic. Genuine AI functions that offer added value are still few and far between. The classic tools continue to deliver good, reliable results, even with their further developments. At some point, when the topic of AI in its current form has run its course, self-learning functions will simply become part of analysis packages, something that is taken for granted. |
| suitable for ... | ... for all SEO specialists and website administrators, at some point in the future |
Analysis and research
What does the tired strategist's brain do at the end of a long week? It searches for new exciting topics. How? By interacting with an artificial brain: in a “clash of the super brains.”
| Application | Topic research: “What new topic can I tackle now?” |
| Tools | all AIs |
| Evaluation | It's just fun: What can AI do? When does it start talking nonsense? How can I push it to its limits? |
| suitable for .. | ... also sharp strategist minds |

Image creation with AI
Here is a brief example with a quote from a colleague who has tried it out (homo ludens collegam): “... It's exciting to see what it generates on its own. And it's not bad at all. Significantly better than a few weeks ago, for example. You can also customize individual elements, such as adding plants or computers, etc. The AI even adjusts the shading, etc. ...”. Here in the example: Alteration of existing images (of the person being teased).
| Application | Image design to make fun of colleagues |
| Tool | Midjourney (what else?) Current beta version of Adobe Photoshop (from version 24.6) |
| Features | Everything possible, see above; in Adobe: the AI works with “generative layers.” Additional content is digitally inserted separately from the original image, allowing you to switch back and forth between different effects and changes without losing any time. 1. Neural filters: Simplification of previously complex image editing processes. 2. Sky replacement feature: background, 3. “Enhance Edge” tool: cropping, 4. Improved search functions, help, and context-sensitive actions: new Discovery panel, plus: pattern preview: for clothing and other surfaces, Liveform, Smart Objects, plugins are faster and easier, and much more. |
| Advantages, drawbacks | Can do a lot (still can't count fingers), is fast, isn't complicated. The idea is at the forefront and is the actual creative act, while the AI takes care of the mere craftsmanship. In general: Tools are becoming simpler, faster to use, and more adaptable to the wishes of their users. “AI” is basically a collective term for improvements to tools. |
| suitable for ... | ... anyone who wants to fool someone; for anyone who quickly designs, edits, or alters images. For social media pros and their posts: quick to create, funny, and then you can forget about it. And, of course, for all design professionals who want to continuously improve themselves and their toolbox. |
Whitepapers, presentations, documents
The first ones are already admitting it: whitepapers used by consulting firms to acquire leads are no longer written by them, but by some form of AI. This exposes an entire profession: the ground is already shifting beneath its feet.
| Application | Whitepaper, write presentations and other know-how documents |
| Tool | ChatGPT is more than enough |
| Features | “Give me everything you've got...” |
| Evaluation | As if we didn't already know that. And many white papers are really not worth reading because they contain nothing fundamentally new, just a rehash of what we already know (we would be happy to provide examples on request). |
| suitable for ... | ... the consultant crowd, and they'll definitely keep using it for a while. Other than that, not really anyone. It would be really cool if authors would share their own thoughts to make it better. Please! |
Archaeology: Modeling of people
A little treat at the end.
| Application | Modeling people, objects, and places based on individual clues, found objects, rules, and specifications |
| Tool | Midjourney |
| Evaluation | Definitely vivid, understandable, and exciting for the layman. Certainly very romanticized. But: lively and well suited for communicating research. |
| suitable for ... | ... Archaeologists and amateur archaeologists. Museum communicators. Anyone who finds something old and wants to make it look like new. Fantasy fans, of course. |
