WhatsApp newsletter will be disabled

Many of you have probably already read that the WhatsApp newsletter is being discontinued. What does this have to do with DRIVE? Read on to find out.

Facebook announced back in the summer that it would ban WhatsApp newsletters at the end of the year. The notifications allowed companies with business profiles to send push messages within WhatsApp. Although only information such as updates on deliveries, bookings, or payments could be sent, the company could respond free of charge within 24 hours if the recipient replied. However, mass messaging was apparently in violation of the terms of use.

The idea of using a channel that is primarily used in a private context is not new, but it is very good and convenient. I have used this form of communication myself. As with all methods, however, other solutions will quickly emerge in this case as well. The company has only allowed Facebook Messenger as an alternative for media outlets registered as news sites starting in January 2020.

There are many channels and media you can use to bring relevant information to your clients. Whether it's another messenger, an app-based solution, or the classic newsletter, we will work with you to determine the best solution for you and your clients!

Write to us at pole-position(at)drive.eu for more information about your communication channels.
