Automotive with DRIVE

DRIVE has worked for the automotive sector for many years.
In so doing, we have built up extensive expertise and displayed this in projects for our customers.

TecDoc and TecCom

In the independent international automotive aftermarket, the identification of replacement parts is of central importance. The TecDoc system requires that the manufacturers of cars, trucks, commercial vehicles and motorcycles collect and prepare their data in a structured, complete and up-to-date manner in order to make this available to the spare part dealers, garages and suppliers and thus be in a position to offer their products. The basis for this is the vehicle master data developed by TecDoc involving standardized vehicle descriptions, the leading system in Europe for identifying vehicles.

DRIVE has worked with the TecDoc system, TecDoc data and TecDoc criteria for many years now. We have redeveloped TecDoc-related data management systems on the basis of Java and PHP. With the help of these systems, auto part manufacturers can create and maintain their data, regularly export and make it available to TecDoc in accordance with the TecDoc criteria, and likewise import the TecDoc data supplied. Moreover, they can produce their voluminous auto parts catalogs both digitally and in print form on this basis.

Our customers for these development services include Johnson Controls Power Solutions and the Schaeffler Group. DRIVE also works on behalf of brands such as VARTA Automotive, Optima Batteries, LuK, INA, FAG and Ruville.

Johnson Controls Power Solutions

Johnson Controls is one of the world’s leading companies in automotive, building efficiency and energy storage solutions. Johnson Controls is also the world’s leading producer of starter batteries. The Power Solutions division comprises, among other things, the VARTA and OPTIMA Batteries brands. DRIVE has been working on behalf of the brands for many years, maintaining, designing and developing the websites, the management systems for all the product data and brands, and the mobile apps in iOS and Android. The websites created by the DRIVE team for VARTA have received several international awards.

Schaeffler Group

For the Schaeffler Group we produce large-scale catalog templates of auto parts for dealers and garages. A cross-media database system is used here, which DRIVE has fully redesigned in Java for the Schaeffler Group in order to automatically generate catalog templates such as product tables, product part lists, OE references, etc. The data structures are converted into XML and transformed into PDF format by means of a rendering process on the basis of individual templates.
